Bodega San Reque de la ENCINA

History

Fachada Bodega San Roque de la Encina

The winery San Roque de la Encina Cooperative Company was established on November 13, 1956. The first crop of grape was gathered in the facilities on September earlier that year with the affiliation of 249 partners who were all vine-growers of the zone which had a surface of 250 hectares.

With the installation in 1957, this led to an increase of capacity and renovation of machinery and facilities in 1966.

In 1991 there was a total improvement of our warehouses with the replacement of all equipment to stainless steel. Also we introduced our first bottled young and oaked wines to the market.

From the year 1998 until the end of 2000 there was a total reform of the Warehouse and facilities with the latest advances, replacing the chute of receipt, bombs of decanting and a good part of the warehouses with others of stainless steel for the production control of the wines. Thanks to the latter restructuring of the vineyard, it has almost grown to an approximate surface of 400 hectares. We proceeded to the extension of the Facilities of the Warehouse, which carried out between 2004 and 2005, and has increased our production to 1.100.000 liters of which it manufactured formally, with the ultimate goal also of facing the future crops of grape.

The process of modernization of the winery finishes in 2010 with the creation of an export department accompanied by a new corporate image, in order for our warehouse to be opened for the international market and to meet the requirements of an ever increasing, rapidly changing world market.
